General Appearance
The Boxer is well known for its flat face and substantial underbite. It has a muscular, powerful looking body with a short, smooth coat. The ears and tail or sometimes docked but this practice is country dependent. The Boxer is a medium sized breed standing between 21 and 25 inches at its shoulder and weighing between 55 and 70 pounds. Females are slightly smaller than males.
Temperament
The Boxer has a charming personality and it loves people. It is exceptionally gentle with children and affectionate with all members of the family. The Boxer is also quite boisterous and energetic. It is confident and athletic. Successfully used as service dogs, police dogs, guard dogs, and military dogs, the Boxer has proved to be intelligent and versatile.
