General Appearance
The Chihuahua is the smallest of all purebred dogs. It weighs less than 6 pounds, and it sometimes weighs a mere pound; it stands between 6 and 9 inches. The Chihuahua has large eyes and an apple shaped head. It can come in any color with either a short, smooth coat or a long coat.
Temperament
The Chihuahua is lively and loyal. This breed tends to be territorial and often becomes attached to just one person. It has a decidedly terrier-like attitude, and unless it is properly trained it might display aggressive tendencies toward people or animals in certain situations. The Chihuahua is very small and not at all sturdy. It can be easily injured if it is stepped on or mistreated.
