General Appearance

The Pekingese is a very small breed but it is fairly hefty. Although standing a mere 7 or 8 inches, this breed can weigh up to 14 pounds. The most striking quality of the Pekingese is its flat face. This breed has a double coat that comes in a wide variety of colors.

The Pekingese is an independent dog with a mind of its own. It is not an easy dog to train. However, it does make a wonderful pet.
