Ch. Shenanigans Bocephus is the ONLY brown Shar-Pei champion in the world. He is OFA Excellent. I could not put down his real age, the site only lets you give a birth date back to 2002, and he was born in 2000. All breeders love to breed to older males, this shows that the male  does not have whatever problems are in that breed. With so many studs "retiring" at 7 or 8 when they lose interest, it is a delight to have many males over 10 who are still 100% on the job!

Standard brown is the first of 4 colors I have invented. I took black to dilute 4 generations in a row [not line-breeding] and each time kept a black male. When Bocephus was 8 weeks old, he was black, when he was 10 weeks old he was brown, and I knew I had succeeded! The color is a dark mink brown with a black mask.

I went to see my daughter in California when Bocephus was 4 months old. She told me to bring a puppy, since she worked 12 hour days and would not be home much. The apartment building was 3 stories high, and no one was there in the daytime. I took Bocephus on the carpeted halls off leash, and taught him to show. He knows if I say "back" he walks backwards, I walk forward. If I say "front" he was forward. If I say "turn" he turns in a 360 degree circle, and still at 10 years old he will do this.

Bocphus is a very powerful, muscular male. He has a large head, but produces even larger heads. He cannot be bred to a female with a large head-you would get heads too big. He has a son, Ch. Shenanigans No Moon Tonight, who has been between #1 and #3 Shar-Pei shown by a Junior handler for 3 years now, and Moon's head is enormous.

At first I bred Bocephus to blue females, getting chocolate or black puppies, because of his great type, and the early blues were not pretty. Then I could take those girls at 2, to blue males, and get gorgeous blue puppies. Bocephus is the reason our blues are so stylish.

Bocephus produces chocolate, brown, black, redfawn, red dilute, and apricot. His stud fee is $800 or pick of the litter. I do have to approve the pedigree and see pictures of a female before she is bred to any of my males. If you would like to use Bocephus, let me know as soon as possible, at least by when your girl comes in heat. I would need to tell you where to order the boxes used for sending chilled semen. It is picked up here at 5:30 PM by UPS and delivered to your Vet's office by 10AM the next morning.
