General Appearance

The Spinone Italiano is a hunting breed similar in appearance to the German Wirehair Pointer. It is powerfully built and athletic looking. It has a single coat of wiry hair, which is about 2 inches in length. Its coat can be solid white, white and brown, white and orange, orange roan, or brown roan. This dog breed stands 22 to 27 inches at the shoulders and weighs 65 to 85 pounds.

Temperament

This breed is friendly and affectionate. It gets along well with people and dogs alike. It is known to be very patient with children. The Spinone is rarely aggressive with anyone. This breed is an excellent gun dog and it has plenty of energy. It is relatively healthy and lives 12 or more years.
